Are You Ready To Put Your Welding Skills To The Test?
Are you a motivated high school senior who wants to prove that you have what it takes to be a welder?
The Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) Regional High School Welding Competition is an annual competition where participants can compete for the opportunity to be awarded an MTI scholarship.
Participants can also enroll in one of MTI’s Welding Programs, which provide students hands-on training geared to meet the tough demands of today’s employers. All participants in the welding competition will receive a $500 scholarship!

What Can I Expect At The MTI High School Welding Competition?
- A timed welding project to be completed by each participant and judged before a panel
- A fun, family-oriented event where participant’s friends and relatives are invited to come and watch you compete
- Demonstrations and networking with experts from the welding industry
- A tour of campus led by an MTI High School Representative
- Raffles for welding gear and other items from local vendors
- Food and/or beverages will be provided
- Admission and Financial Aid Representatives available to answer your questions
- An awards ceremony concluding the competition and announcing the scholarship winners
When And Where Is The MTI High School Welding Competition?
- Missouri Regional Competition
- When: Saturday, February 22, 2025
- Where: MTI’s Springfield, MO campus located at 3600 S. Glenstone Outer Road, Springfield, MO 65804
- Illinois Regional Competition
- When: Saturday, April 12, 2025
- Where: MTI’s East Peoria, IL campus located at 280 High Point Lane, East Peoria, IL 61611
